“I learned valuable knowledge from the lectures of international scholars. My favourites were comparative politics, political economy and Southeast Asian democratisation because I could apply them directly to my career. I am a journalist working for a local newspaper. Such knowledge is very useful for my daily job. The beauty of the course is that all students can learn higher educational classes after our daily work because the classes were conducted in the evenings. My classmates were development workers, political party activists and enthusiastic learners, so another take-away from the school is the expansion of my professional network. Thank you for giving me this chance”.

I had a dream. I wanted to learn Political Science since I was young because I wanted to be a Politician but we didn’t get the chance before. When I knew that I have been chosen to be a Master student, I couldn’t say how much I was happy. We learned about Comparative Politics from oversea scholars and getting knowledgeable experience. After the program was completed, we’re well trained to run in the current arena. YSPS makes my dreams come true. This experience isn’t made me more confident only but it can also be applied in the various fields like Economic, Politics, Education, Health, etc. We’re keeping in touch with our teachers and friends through the occasions that YSPS makes oftentimes.

“When YSPS called me for interview to attending MSc (Comparative Politic), I felt really great and excited to come, because I was hungry to learn about Political Science. The YSPS classroom is nondiscrimination, unity, eagerness, encouragement and feel like family. I learned a lot of knowledge and thoughts of political science not only local thinkings but also global issues and idealism. I feel great when we meet with famous lecturers or famous person (as economist, political analysts) and we had great opportunities for learning and discussed with them. I’m really thanks to YSPS for giving chance to attending awesome programs and other great seminars. I am working at Promoting Rule of Law Project, and I can more emphasize on my job and analyzing skills are more improved after the master programme done. The knowledge from the YSPS’s classroom were really supporting our real life. There’s no words can express how much thank to YSPS’s benevolence. “

“YSPS introduced me to a whole new world of Political Science. As someone who has had few chances to be in touch with the subject, I went for the course equipped only with a keen interest and a ready mind. The classes were most engaging and thought-provoking. Along the way, I discovered topics and causes that I realized for the first time are dear to my heart. I also had chances to participate in extracurricular activities such as a debate tournament, enriching seminars, a survey project for a member of parliament, and attend a presidential election session in the parliament. Academics aside, some people I got to know there told me that the school gives them a strong sense of belonging unlike anything they have experienced before; I must agree. What I appreciate most is that religion, race, gender, age and status do not matter here. The students’ body is made up of people from a diverse pool of backgrounds who, despite their differences, would try to understand each other and could most amicably agree to disagree. YSPS is more than just a school; it is a close-knitted community of like-minded, passionate people who care about our country and its role in the world, who have such political and philosophical curiosity, who are keen to contribute in whatever little way possible, and with whom I can have endless discussions well beyond the class hours. YSPS was definitely one of the best choices I’ve made.”
